Principal's Report
Dear Families,
I often hear remarked to me, especially by others outside of our school, how we have developed and maintain a positive and strong culture at Thomas More College.
Culture is often defined as ‘the way we do things around here’, and over the last seven days I’ve seen two excellent examples of just how well we do things around here. Both were captured on LinkedIn.
The first is from old scholar Eloise Atterton, and the second was documented by me:
These are just two examples; I thank all our staff and students for continuously contributing to who we are.
On Thursday I spoke to all students about some tightening of our guidelines around the use of mobile phones. I will cover this in a letter going home to families early next week. Our students were excellent in their understanding and will work well with these small changes; I thank you in advance for this cooperation.
Finally, as per my last newsletter article this is my last day for the rest of Term. I am fortunate enough to be joining other leaders in schools and across CESA for a study tour of the UK, where I will attend an international Catholic Education Conference, tour high performing Academy Schools, and follow many of the birthplaces of Catholic Education through a religious pilgrimage in Ireland. This correlates with the 180th birthday of the provision of Catholic Education in South Australia.
Please see the attached letter from CESA Director Dr Neil McGoran which confirms the arrangements while I am leave.
I look forward to reconnecting with our Community when I return in Term 4.
Take care,
Corey Tavella
