Students in Ms Sergi's Year 7 Design & Tech class completed their second project, Segmented Chopping Boards.

Students were required to complete research in their folio, design their shape and image to engrave on their chopping boards using Adobe Illustrator, and then hands on making the project, gluing three pieces of wood together, Oak and Jarrah. Following this, students used tools such as the coping saw, the disc sander and the drill press to create their design and shape their chopping boards, sanding and filing before adding their final touch and engraving their chosen image using the Trotec laser cutter.

A big thank you to Mr Eberhard for assisting students with their design using the Illustrator program and demonstrating how to operate other machines and tools within the workspace for some of the unique designs.
