In Week 4, Thomas More College produced its biennial production, The Addams Family. Putting on a production is a huge journey that strongly exemplifies TMC’s values of Drive, Discipline, and Persistence. Together, over three terms, our students have striven for excellence and persisted through challenges to create the production of The Addams Familywhich was performed to hundreds of people over our performances. These students include newcomers and those who were in both Annie and Seussical during their time at the College. Once again, we were blessed to have our College Captains in leading roles, highlighting the strong links between leadership and the Performing Arts. It was my particular joy to see the support of the school community at performances with several staff and many Old Scholars (some who graduated as early as 2020!).

The cast often gets the glory on stage, but it’s important to note the work of the students who weren’t seen on stage. Our orchestra was filled with students – many of whom are playing in a setting like this for the first time – and they have been rehearsing every week alongside our cast. The crew has also had weekly meetings where they constructed, painted, and planned the movement of the set. We have also had – for the first time – a group of students helping Front of House in seating patrons and giving away programs. An enormous group of staff across faculties have also volunteered their time to teach, supervise and guide the students in creating this show. As members of Team TMC, this group has collaborated towards the greater purpose of putting their passion and dedication on show to our wider community.
