Year 11 Retreat + Wellbeing Day
On Monday, 1st and Tuesday, 2nd September, our Year 11 students took part in two inspiring experiences designed to support their wellbeing, faith, and connection. Students were divided into two groups, alternating between a Retreat at Para Wirra Conservation Park and a Wellbeing Day at school.
The Retreat focused on connecting with nature, each other, and God. Beginning with prayer and reflection on Genesis, students were reminded of the goodness of creation and their place within it. Activities such as bushwalking, meditation mandalas, kindness rocks, and collaborative art encouraged gratitude, mindfulness, and friendship. The day concluded with a liturgy centered on Psalm 23, inviting students to reflect on God’s presence in nature, silence, and community.
The Wellbeing Day offered opportunities for students to pause and recharge through activities including grazing board making, yoga, boxing, and an energetic Amazing Race challenge. A highlight of the program was an inspiring keynote address from Chris Blowes, whose inspiring story of resilience and growth encouraged students to reflect on the importance of mindset when facing challenges.
Together, the two days provided a well-rounded experience, balancing spiritual growth and wellbeing, and allowing our Year 11 students to return to their studies refreshed, connected, and inspired.
